Wu-Tang and Rage Against The Machine Teaming Up

Posted by Joe Lazar on February 27, 2007

Coachella unfortunatees, you now have hope. Rage Against The Machine and Wu-Tang Clan have announced they will be playing three shows together this summer for Rock The Bells. Rock The Bells has been a concert that goes on annually, with acts such as Nas and A Tribe Called Quest performing. It was also the host of the Wu-Tang reunion in 2004, which was the band’s last performance with member ODB (Ol’ Dirty Bastard).

More acts will be announced in due time.

The dates and more info can be found at the concert’s web site.

Have you guys ever seen the “Rock the Bells” concert film that documents that 2004 concert? As someone who is only a casual hip-hop fan, I’ll on record saying that it is one of the best concert films I’ve ever seen, not only a passionate look at the music but one of the most intensely dramatic behind-the-scenes concert movies I’ve seen that isn’t named “Gimme Shelter.” A must-watch if you can track it down (it’s been making the film festival circuit the last year or so).

    Here’s the website: http://www.rockthebellsmovie.com/

I’ll have to check that out. I heard Wu-Tang’s concert DVD live from the tour sucked though. Disciples of the 36 Chambers.
